Stormer Products Bodies

Stormer Products started early in the game and had seventeen vac-formed shells listed in the very first Polk's Hobbies mail-order slot car parts ad in the May 1963 issue of Car Model. There were 26 Stormer shells in the Polk's ad in the December 1963 issue.

Stormer Products appeared in the 1964 Auto World catalog with 25 of their now expanded line of 29 different shells. In the 1965 issue there were 44 different bodies, of which 35 were listed. So in early 1965, Stormer had more different 1/24 scale body styles for sale than any other slot car manufacturer; they were the biggest. This attracted the attention of more than just customers.

Sometime in early 1966, the Pactra Chemical Company, noted for model paints and painting supplies and obviously looking to get into the slot car body business, bought Stormer Products, the whole company, and promptly began producing their own line of high quality clear plastic bodies using Stormer's expertise, but under their own name of course.
