Hawk is one of those manufacturers that unfortunately did not seem to be paying enough attention to what they were doing, and apparently (dare I say "clearly") did not grasp the significance of "clear" plastic, which the builder would then paint on the inside.  Hawk proudly manufactured their bodies from tinted plastic; the Lotus 23 in the center photo is not "yellowed" from age, it was originally made from yellow tinted plastic.

Not too sure either about the "New Breed of Cat" slogan with the inevitable smug feline cartoon caricature.  What new breed of cat is that anyway?  Perhaps it would have been better if the HAWK Model Company would have used a caricature of...  a Hawk?  Better still, used clear plastic?  I guess not...
